Tech Tip #19 Routing Wires

Lower is Better!
We do not recommend routing wires through the headliner of the vehicle. This is dangerous for many reasons:

- Chaffing inside roof posts
- Screws or fasteners used to install the headliner
- Very difficult to troubleshoot
- Impossible to trace/replace wires
- Lengthens the wire too much
- Creates voltage drop

Shorter is Better!
- Less resistance
- Less risk of physical damage
- Can use smaller wires
- Can make them easier to conceal
